You should install the 64-bit version if you work with extremely large Excel workbooks (millions of rows of data), massive PowerPoint decks with high-res media, or if you need to address more than 2GB of memory for a single Office task. Most home users can safely use 32-bit, but the industry trend is moving toward 64-bit.
