Jack Hoffman’s life was measured not in years but in impact. Diagnosed at five, he spent 14 of his 19 years fighting a disease that eventually took him. Yet in those 14 years, he accomplished more than most do in a lifetime. He brought joy to a stadium of 60,000. He raised millions for research. He inspired a foundation that will outlast us all. And he showed that courage is not the absence of fear—it is the decision to keep running, even when the path is uncertain.

Born on September 23, 2005, in Atkinson, Nebraska, Jack was a typical farm kid—full of energy, curiosity, and a burgeoning love for Cornhusker football. That all changed in April 2011. Just before his sixth birthday, Jack began experiencing persistent headaches, vomiting, and balance issues. His parents, Andy and Brianna Hoffman, rushed him to the Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha. Jack Hoffman’s life was measured not in years
