Ultimately, "Satisfaction Season 1" offers two distinct but equally compelling experiences: a raw and empathetic look at the lives of six women in a secretive profession, and a slick, suspenseful dissection of a marriage in crisis. Both, in their own way, ask the difficult question of what it means to be truly satisfied.

The show dedicates significant screen time to the boring parts of sex work: the laundry, the accounting, the negotiation of boundaries, the "safe call" procedures.
