Just as the group starts to believe they are safe, the survivors begin to die in a series of bizarre and shocking accidents, the first of which happens immediately after they leave the speedway. Nick becomes convinced that Death is systematically eliminating those who were meant to die in the initial disaster. He is plagued by a deeper, more terrifying ability: he can now see glimpses of Death's design and future victims.
